Passing the GED tests along with the AZ Civics Test is one way a High School Equivalency Diploma can be earned in Arizona. High School Equivalency Diplomas are generally accepted by employers and educational institutions as substitutes for a high school diploma.
Pima County Public Library offers many in-person and online classes designed to help you pass the GED tests. Some classes are subject specific, some are drop-in, and some are offered in eight-week sessions by our partners at Literacy Connects.

Career Online High School
Available by scholarship through Pima County Public Library, Career Online High School™ (COHS) offers adults in Pima County aged 22 and older the opportunity to complete their high school education. Earn a career certificate as part of this completely online program. You’ll have access to library staff, an academic coach, certified instructors, and technical support.
In COHS you will complete the same coursework as traditional high school. Some credits you earned in high school may be transferable. Expect to work 8 to 10 hours per week on your coursework. It may take anywhere from 6 months to 18 months to graduate, depending upon the number of credits that transfer and the amount of time and work you put into it. Claiming a scholarship and enrollment is a multi-stage process limited by available funding.
