There’s always something fun to do in the 101 Space!

The 101 Space at Joel D. Valdez Main Library was designed by teens and serves as a safe space for kids and young adults to be the person they want to be without fear or judgement.

It is a place to make crafts, a space to be creative, and to maybe experiment with something new. It is a place to hang with friends, a place to make new friends, a place to watch movies, a place to make a zine, a space to have a snack, a quiet place to kick back and relax. It is somewhere that exudes creative energy and positive vibes. It is a space that belongs to all library users between 11 and 18.

Through the end of October in the lobby of Joel D. Valdez Main Library, visitors can enjoy an art exhibit featuring items made by 101 Space teens and tweens who utilize the creativity lab. Twice a week staff put on workshops where different things can be done. Things on display include buttons made on the button maker, 3D prints made on one of the three printers in the area, crafts made out of clay, beads, decorative frames, masks, sugar skulls, paintings, scratch art, seed bombs, and so much more!

Check the library calendar for a listing of the weekly events that we host. There is always something fun to do in the 101 Space!
