Dear community, the Pride Team of Pima County Public Library works to create a safe and friendly environment for people who identify as LGTBQIA+.
We are heartbroken over the recent hate crime against our community. It’s hard to know what to say when violence like this happens, and when connections between members of the LGBTQIA+ community are threatened by the homophobic actions of others. We want to take a moment to remember and mourn the two members of the community who deserved to live their lives the way they wanted, and to extend our hearts and thoughts to everyone who has been affected or impacted by this tragedy.
When a tragedy like this strikes our community, there is the immediate shock of impact, but the effects can ripple for a long time, especially when we may not be able to give space to all of our frustration, sadness, and heartbreak.
