Kirk-Bear Canyon Library invites you to an exhibit by local artist Ana Martinez, on display until September 30, 2025.
Artist Statement:

I turn trash into treasure. With my love of nature as inspiration, I allow the colors, textures and design of the textile to tell me what it wants to become. I look at the textures, size and color and listen for the magic to happen.
Creating enhances my vitality and gives me a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. My art is an expression of fun-loving whimsical joy and healing. I want you to enjoy the feelings inspired from my artwork and influence you to connect to your inner soul.
The use of found elements and items such as beads, buttons, yarns, rope, ribbons, floss, paper, metals and stitches with threads and quilting techniques bring a sense of spiritual connection and inner reflection. Relaxation and meditation bring continual inspiration for my intricate abstract landscapes.
I am dedicated to textile art, especially visual aspects of nature.
