Sarah T. Dubb jumps in as newest Writer in Residence!

(Tucson, AZ) Local author Sarah T. Dubb will kick off the Fall 2025 Writer in Residence program on September 4. Her residency will run through November 13.

The Writer in Residence program brings local authors to the Library to consult with writers of any age, experience, or genre. Interested participants can schedule a time to meet with the resident and get advice, feedback, pointers, and tips on writing, publishing, and self-publishing. It is generously funded by the Arizona State Library, Archives, and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Sarah will be available for eight 30 minute one-on-one sessions per week at Quincie Douglas Library and Woods Memorial Library. Sarah can help participants brainstorm, write story pitches, edit existing work, explore questions about publishing, and more! Writers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Join other local writers for a casual, low-pressure writing session. Bring a computer or notebook and be ready to work! PCPL Writer-in-Residence Sarah T. Dubb will lead you in writing sprints to get your brain moving, and will be available for short one-on-one sessions to discuss your work in progress. Individual sessions at this event are first come, first serve.

About Sarah T. Dubb

Sarah T. Dubb is a writer, public librarian, parent, activist, and born-and-raised desert gal. After focusing on literature and writing in her undergraduate and graduate work, Sarah spent several years writing about eco-friendly living practices for non-profit Green America, then went on to work as Managing Editor of SQUAT Birth Journal, a monthly publication focusing on birth work and reproductive justice.

In her late 30s, while in school to become a public librarian, Sarah fell in love with romance and started writing fiction. Her debut novel, Birding with Benefits, was a 2024 NPR Books We Love pick, and has been adapted into a Hallmark Channel movie, Adventures in Love & Birding, premiering this September. Her second novel, Honey Bee Mine, will be published by Simon & Schuster in early 2026. Sarah has also self-published three novellas, and works as a freelance editor focusing specifically on story pitches and opening chapters.
