The Library doesn't keep records of your borrowing history without your permission. However, when you enable Borrowing History (previously called Recently Returned or Reading History), the system will start building a list of all the physical titles you borrow.
Please note:
At this time, Borrowing History does not contain your digital history–the e-books, downloadable audiobooks, streaming films, or downloadable songs you borrow– since those are managed by separate systems such as OverDrive, Hoopla, IndieFlix, and Freegal.
- On the OverDrive website.
- In the Libby app.
- In Hoopla, you will login, then go to the "My Hoopla" menu at the top, then select History.
The items in your Borrowing History are visible only to you.
Important! You can enable and disable this feature in Privacy Settings. Here's how:
-
- Click the blue “My Account” dropdown
- Select “My Settings”
- Then “Borrowing History” is one of the choices on the left side of the screen
Important! If you set the toggle to OFF, you will delete your entire Borrowing History instantaneously!
More about Borrowing History:
- Sorting: If your Borrowing History has more than 100 titles, the sorting options do not appear, and the list will be sorted chronologically, with the most recently returned title first.
- To sort it, you'll have to add the titles to your "My Completed" shelf. Before you do this, you should read about your privacy settings to ensure that you're sharing only what you want to. Then read about My Shelves and why they are so flexible.
- Borrowing History is not retroactive. Tracking begins with the first item you return after you enable it.
- If the Borrowing History feature is not enabled, nothing will be stored.
