What is the first song you remember in this life?
I’d have to say “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits. Jumping off the coffee table playing air guitar when the guitar flies in after the drum intro. Good times!
If you could have dinner with an artist who has passed, who would it be?
Ozzy Osbourne. The guy is epic! That’d be quite the experience!
If you could recruit anybody you wanted to be in your band, who would it be?
Nicolas Reyes, lead singer of the Gipsy Kings. That would be rad!
What song makes you want to cry?
“Papillon” by Secret Garden, or “Love Like This” by RY X
On your death bed, what would be the last song you listen to?
“Now We Are Free” from Gladiator
What song motivates you?
Anything with solid rhythm and a great riff! Vocals are optional, I love instrumental music, hence Tesoro. Songs by Dio, The Clash, Black Keys. Zeppelin always get me jumpin’. The list is too long! A song that motivates me the most would have to be “Nevergreen” by Emancipator. Great group, music is inspiring.
If you could give your genre of music a new name, what would it be?
Indie Latin, Latin Rumba Flamenco Rock. It’s tough! We bent some genres for our sound.
Who's your musical GOAT?
Tonino Bailardo of the Gipsy Kings - he’s literally one of the most underrated guitarists of-all time!
What is your favorite lyric of all time?
From “Grey Street” by DMB:
And though it's red blood bleeding from her now
It's more like cold blue ice in her heart
She feels like kicking out all the windows
And setting fire to this life
She could change everything about her
She could change everything about her
Using colors bold and bright
But all the colors mix together
To grey
Use five words to describe your music.
Energetic, Emotive, Passionate, Precise, Cinematic
Do you love or hate Phil Collins’ "In The Air Tonight"?
Neither, he’s great, the song’s great, it’s just all everyone talks about. He did what he loved and I admire that!
What song on eternal repeat would you wish for your nemesis?
“The Happy Song” by Imogen Heap
Do you have a song you love from another generation?
“El Paso” by Marty Robbins
What's the best concert you ever attended?
Gipsy Kings and Black Sabbath, Sunsquabi was amazing as well.
Who would you collaborate with?
Hermanos Gutierrez or The LaLom would be incredible! Great latin artists!
Who do you regret not seeing in concert?
Haven’t seen Tool yet, not too late, but no major regrets. Seeing Zeppelin would have been next level!
