Art Exhibit ~ Living River of Words

Eckstrom-Columbus Library invites you to an exhibit of winning works from the Living River of Words Youth Poetry and Art Contest. The exhibit will be on display starting December 2, and will remain through January 30.

Connecting Youth with Art, Science, and Nature

The Living River of Words program has been connecting youth in Pima County to the wonders of water for two decades by combining nature, art, and interdisciplinary science in the classroom and the field. After exploring the Santa Cruz River or another local wetland habitat, youth ages 5 to 19 are invited to share their reflections by entering their poetry, visual art, or photography in the Living River of Words Youth Poetry and Art Contest.

Out of more than 500 entries, the judges selected 55 pieces as the 2023 finalists and grand-prize winners in each age category. Additionally, six pieces that were local finalists last season, were honored as 2023 International River of Words finalists. Come enjoy the wonder of these special places through award-winning youth poetry and art at Eckstrom-Columbus Library Dec. 2nd through Jan. 30th.
