Art Exhibit ~ Chuck Albanese

Oro Valley Library invites you to an exhibit by local artist Chuck Albanese, on display until February 28, 2026.

Artist Statement:

Chuck Albanese is a well-known Tucson Artist that joined the faculty of the University of Arizona College of Architecture in 1967 (now called the College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture). In addition to teaching full time, Albanese quickly found himself drawn to community projects. His Firm Albanese-Brooks completed over 275 built projects in his 33-year partnership before he left the firm all the while teaching full time. He established a university program that enabled him and his wife to spend portions of the following summers guiding university students through Italy and Greece. Many of his students became successful exhibiting professional artists, including well-known artist Diana Madaras. Albanese retired from teaching after 36 years, but then quickly returned to the University as the Dean of the expanded College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture.

After enjoying a successful career in academia and architectural practice, Chuck is now unencumbered to focus on his passion for painting. Today, he spends most of his free time exploring ideas, media, and subject matter, including iconography that has intrigued him for years. He loves to capture the beauty of the Sonoran Desert as well as Tucson landmarks and scenes, He believes painting is a “life-long journey” and strives to integrate art with all aspects of life, including travel, recreation, teaching and social. Look for him when you hear a dance or jazz band playing, he may be sitting in the trumpet section.

My work is also currently on Exhibit at the Madaras Gallery in Tucson.
