Project Details

  • Description: The scope of work is to keep the original reading room and demolish the rest of the building. The new addition will include the entry area, service desk, computer commons, study room, multipurpose room and staff area. The staff area will include a break room, manager’s office, conference room, wellness room and restroom.  The exterior will include new reading and staff patios, landscaping, pollinator garden and the relocated donor pavers and benches.

Public Outreach/Programming ✓

  • Public Meeting 1- Ward 6 office, 4-26-24. Reviewed history of library and presented the results of the community survey. Presented 3 floor plan options. Option 3 preferred. View slides
  • Public Meeting 2- Ward 6 office, 8-3-24. Developed Option 3 and presented it to group. Also, presented various interior and exterior renderings of the building. Presented and discussed the site improvements. View slides
  • Public Meeting 3 - Sam Hughes Elementary, 1-21-25. Provided a summary of the 3 original options and the most recent approved plan and renderings. Discussed the pollinator garden and reviewed the site landscape plan. Also reviewed the salvage and reinstallation of the memorial pavers, benches and bike racks. View slides
