What is a Decodable Reading Kit?

Each Zip! Zap! Read! Kit includes 6-7 books that help readers acquire new reading skills.

Each book in the series builds on the one before! By reading the books in order, readers can improve their word recognition and comprehension.

The kits are based on and aligned with the science of reading, a body of interdisciplinary research (from fields including, but not limited to, cognitive psychology, linguistics, and neuroscience) about issues related to reading and writing.

They offer the opportunity to understand the relationship between written and spoken language and identify (or decode) unfamiliar words rather than guessing from pictures or using visual cues.
