Friends of the Green Valley Library Invest in Education

The Friends of the Green Valley Library, serving the Joyner-Green Valley and Sahuarita Libraries, have once again demonstrated their commitment to higher education by sponsoring two employees of the Pima County Public Library enrolled in the School of Information at the University of Arizona.

The two recipients, Joseph Garcia and Vicki Lázaro, are seeking Masters of Arts in Library and Information Science, a degree accredited by the American Library Association that prepares students for careers in libraries, museums, and archives, as well as government and business information centers.

Currently, Joseph is a Library Technical Assistant in Circulation Services at the Joyner-Green Valley Library and Vicki is a Program Instructor at the Miller-Golf Links Library. With the Friends' generous support, Joseph and Vicki will be able to take the next step in their professional careers and help future generations of library users.

The scholarships are made possible through YOUR support of the Friends of the Green Valley Library. By shopping at their bookstores, becoming a member, volunteering, or donating today, you can help support future scholars, fund library programs for kids and adults, and contribute to library improvements.
