Tucson Convention Center – Date of Opening

The Tucson Convention Center opened in downtown on November 6, 1971 under the designation Tucson Community Center. 

TCC was designed by the architect firm of Cain Nelson Wares and Cook (CNWC) in association with Friedman & Jobusch. The Landscape of the approximately 5.75 acre grounds surrounding the TCC, designed by landscape architect Garrett Eckbo, was completed in two stages in 1971 and 1973.
