Pie Allen Neighborhood

This Tucson neighborhood was named after John B. Allen, opens a new window. In 1862, Allen heard members of the U.S. Calvary wishing for pie. Allen sold pies to the Calvary men and was nicknamed “Pie” afterwards. He was a prominent citizen and served as a mayor of Tucson.

The boundaries of this neighborhood are East Sixth Street on the north, North Park Avenue on the east, North Fifth Avenue on the west and East Broadway on the south.
