Butterflies That Appear During the Monsoon Season

Depending on the intensity of summer rains, the Lyside Sulphur (Kricogonia lyside) butterflies may be seen fluttering about in the Tucson area. These butterflies are 1 ¼ to 2 inches in size.  Their color can be a whitish or greenish with yellow.  These butterflies do not appear with every monsoon.
