Paying rent entitles you to a habitable place to live

This blog post is brought to you by Matthew Landon, Workforce and Economic Development Librarian, at Joel D. Valdez Main Library.

Do you struggle with landlord/tenant issues? What are your rights as a paying tenant? On Thursday, September 28th, local residents are meeting to discuss these topics with a free dinner and presentation by the Amphi Pantera Tenant Empowerment Program.

Program partner Hassan Clement says, “Paying rent entitles you to a fit and habitable place to live. Come to this event if you want to learn how to advocate for this and make it happen for you and your neighbors.”

The information session and dinner are free and open to all and meets from 5:30 to 7:30pm on September 28th at Literacy Connects, 200 E. Yavapai Rd. This session is sponsored by Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Code Enforcement of Tucson, the Ward 3 Office, Pima County Constables Office, Tucson Tenants Union, and the Amphi Neighborhood Association.
