Pima County Wants Your Input on 2010 Bond Election

Released: 09-02-09

Pima County is seeking public input regarding a possible bond election in 2010. The public is encouraged to attend one of several meetings scheduled from September through December, to provide input as to whether a bond election should be held in 2010 and, if so, what types of projects should be included for funding.

Pima County Bond Advisory Committee Public Input Meetings

The meetings are being held at the Randolph Golf Course Copper Room, 600 South Randolph Way, at 8 am on the following dates:

  • Friday, September 11
  • Friday, October 16
  • Friday, November 13
  • Friday, December 11

Bonds are used by communities to fund major capital improvements such as court facilities, sheriff substations, libraries, neighborhood reinvestment projects, parks and recreation facilities, flood control and sewer treatment facilities, affordable housing, land to preserve natural areas, and other key projects.

The last two bond elections for Pima County were held in 2004 and 2006. Sixty-four percent of the projects approved by voters during these most recent bond elections have either been completed or are under construction.

Voter approval is required to authorize Pima County to sell bonds. Pima County, along with its cities, towns, and tribes, has identified a number of needed projects for voter consideration. View descriptions of the proposed projects for a 2010 bond election here.

If attendance is not possible at the Pima County Bond Advisory Committee meetings, comments can be provided through mail to:
