(TUCSON, Ariz.) – Multiple facility projects are scheduled to take place at the Joyner-Green Valley Library located at 601 N. La Cañada Drive. Currently, the work is scheduled to last through June 2017.
Included among the much-needed upgrades are:
- Lighting – All of the ceiling lighting will be replaced with LED lights, increasing brightness and saving money. The lighting replacement is expected to run through April 24 and will not affect Library services.
- Parking Lot – The Library will gain an additional 75 parking spots in the area that previously served as The Green Valley Lions Club Recycle Center. The parking lot expansion is expected to run May through June. It will not affect Library services, but may result in increased traffic while work is underway.
- Painting – The current wall tile in the large meeting room will be replaced, and the walls will be painted. The work is expected to run May 2–8, and the large meeting room will be closed during this period. The small meeting room, which holds 25 people, will remain open and available for reservations.
- Re-carpeting – Re-carpeting of the entire Library is scheduled to begin in mid-May and last approximately two weeks. The Library will close for two days during the process while the service desk and computer lab areas are worked on, but the exact dates have not yet been determined.
These dates are subject to change and will be updated as needed. News releases in our Newsroom will reflect any current closures or interruptions to customers.
