Teens, showcase your creative work at a multimedia open mic!

(Tucson, AZ) On Saturday, July 31st from 11 am to noon, the Library will host a multimedia open mic just for teens! This free event—part of the Library's "Imagine Our Story" Summer Learning program—will give teens the opportunity to celebrate their creativity and share stories, poems, art, and music. It will be hosted by award-winning writer Marge Pellegrino, author of many books for young people, including Neon Words: 10 Brilliant Ways to Light up your Writing, opens a new window

This event will be hosted via Zoom. Advance registration is required, opens a new window

Participants will share screens and talk about the creative process. Sharing will be limited to fix minutes to accommodate everyone. The event will conclude with a powerful gratitude writing exercise and a musical performance designed to end the summer and kick off new adventures in the coming school year.

Librarian Matt Landon says, "Art and writing create meaning and help make sense of life. We hope teens will join us in sharing a bit of themselves in a safe and support atmosphere, and be inspired by seeing other people's work and talking about the expressive arts."
