Celebrate Arizona women!

Women's History Month (March) is upon us! To celebrate, we invite readers to learn more about the contributions of Arizona women with the Cele Peterson Arizona and Steinheimer collections.

You might not realize it based on what we learned in school, but women and girls have been in Arizona since there were people here! And each has her own story to tell. We are lucky to have some incredible resources about remarkable women of the Southwest throughout history. From personal stories and perseverance to adventurous exploits and artistic achievement, we've got a book about it.

Before diving into this book list, we encourage you to learn more about the Library's various special collections, including the Cele Peterson Arizona Collection and the Steinheimer Collection. Please note, items in these two collections cannot be checked out, but some of the books listed here have additional print and/or digital copies that you can take home. The collections lives on the 3rd floor of Joel D. Valdez Main Library. Come visit and explore!
