Fight boredom and learn to code with Prenda!

"I'M BORED!"

Oh man, we know parents have been hearing this more than usual. Thank goodness the weather has been glorious, but still.

So, Dear parents, we are here for you. One of our favorite kiddo boredom-killers, Prenda Code Club, has a contest now, that runs through the end of January.

Prenda Code Club is a free and entertaining way for youth ages 8-18 to learn how to create their own software applications and computer games through coding.

What you need: Your kids and teens can play for free using an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or phone. First there is some very basic registration (first name, email, library, etc.) As with other online games, they are required to ask your child's birth month and year.

The Holiday Code Challenge is open to everyone, even beginners. The mission? Create a Holiday Helper Robot to remind people what they have forgotten about a favorite holiday!

Prizes: Submit your project by midnight 1/31/2021 for a chance to win a Makey Makey kit, a Sphero Mini, or for 1st place, a codable Tello Drone!

What Prenda also offers: ongoing projects and "Workouts" to learn different kinds of coding and the child's own pace. They recently added more support for Scratch coding projects.
