October’s a busy month at the Library!

Do you love October? I do! The crispness in the air, the smell of candy everywhere, good books on my nightstand. Looking for a good reason (but, really, who needs a reason?) to come to the Library? Here are some highlights from what might possibly be my favorite month.

Mes de la Cultura

Do you like food, culture, and books galore? We do, too. Celebrate Mes de la Cultura this month with lists of great reads, a Gertie & The T.O. Boys concert, and celebrations of cuisine.

Looking for not-so-scary books for your little one or a special Storytime? We've got you covered. We also have some great lists for those true horror fans out there.

LGBT History Month

Not only do we have author Jacob Tobia coming to visit, but we have Tucson's own Poet Laureate TC Tolbert offering poetry workshops. And we have our Rainbow Reads Book Club reading The Long Way to A Small, Angry Planet this month. Don't miss out!

Family History Month

If you're delving into genealogy, you won't want to miss one of the many workshops this month. Whether you are just beginning or well on your way to mapping your family tree, the Library is the place to be this month.

Fall Gardening

Sure, we have gardening events all year round, but October's the best time to be outside! Drop in for Master Gardeners presentation or swing by the Seed Library page to find out what you can plant this time of year.
