This summer, we invite you to discover and visit the various locations on our tracker to learn more about culturally and historically significant places and landmarks in our region.
Have you seen all of Tucson’s beautiful murals? You can learn about them by attending one of our summer events—Amazing Murals. Register for this cool event, presented by the Children’s Museum, that features learning about different murals and talking to the artists about their work.
If you want to walk around and see the murals for yourselves, there are some self-guided walking tours that you can take with your friends and family. Just be sure to go in the cool early morning hours, wear a hat and bring lots of water to beat Tucson’s summer heat!
Here are two self-guided walking tours in the downtown Tucson area that you can take—they are close to the Joel D. Valdez Main Library:
- Meet Me at Maynards 14 Mural Walk takes you on a pathway of 1.85 miles and 14 beautiful murals.
- Meet Me at Maynards 23 Mural Walk takes you on a pathway of 3 miles and 23 amazing murals.
If you want to see murals at other places around town, you can find a guide on This is Tucson's site - 107 amazing Tucson murals and where to find them.
One of these murals, created by Joe Pagac, is on the walls of PCPL’s Kirk Bear Canyon Library!
Another mural is being painted right now near Himmel Library, and the public is invited to watch artist Joe Pagac’s progress on it from 6am–10am weekdays!
Here are some books you can check out about murals and art!
