Get on the Banned (Books) Wagon

This week, September 27 - October 3, is Banned Books Week. The event calls attention to books that have been banned or challenged in various localities.  What kinds of books get banned or challenged? Some of the titles may surprise you. The American Library Association's Office for Intellectual Freedom tracks frequently challenged books.

Pima County Public Library supports the freedom to read, and some of our library staff have come up with clever ways to point that out.

At Flowing Wells Library the staff invites you to get on the Banned Wagon while the staff at Kirk-Bear Canyon have caged intellectual curiosity. Books in the banned books in the display at Southwest Library are serving time.

Pima County Public Library invites you to celebrate the freedom to read today by reading a banned or challenged book!
