An important message about RBdigital eBooks and audiobooks

OverDrive, the leading digital reading platform and creator of the Libby app, recently acquired RBdigital. On September 15, 2020, all RBdigital eBooks and audiobooks will be transferred to the Library's OverDrive service available at pima.overdrive.com, opens a new window or the Libby app, opens a new window.

What does this mean for you?

In the middle of a book? Don't worry.

If you are currently reading a book in the RBdigital app, it will be available through the remainder of the lending period. You will not lose any materials you currently have checked out

You can export your data.

Your data will not transfer to OverDrive, so if you want to keep your information—holds, reading history, bookmarks—you will need to export your data in three easy steps on a computer or laptop, not in the app!

  • Go to RBdigital.
  • Use the hamburger icon (three lines) on the top left to open the menu.
  • Under MY ACCOUNT, go to Profiles.
  • At the bottom of your profile, select Export My Transaction History.

This will generate a spreadsheet that lists all of your holds and checkouts, as well as your wishlist. You can manually add this information to OverDrive when the titles are available for viewing. Please see more about holds below.

Holds are not moving to OverDrive—here's what you can expect.

Unfortunately, RBdigital holds will not be transferred to OverDrive. What that means is that you will have to place holds again in OverDrive, and you will not have the same spot on the OverDrive waitlist as you did in RBdigital.

Before September 15th, make note of your existing holds. On September 15th, OverDrive will start the transfer of books. It can take anywhere from 3-24 hours for titles to appear in OverDrive. When the title appears in OverDrive, place a hold.

You can check now to see if your book is available in OverDrive, opens a new window. If it's not there yet, it will be after the September 15 transition.

Please note.

The Library has no control over the way the holds are being managed. We know this is frustrating, and we wish we could do more, but we simply can’t. These two companies are handling the transition, and library staff are not able to change how the transition happens. We appreciate your understanding.

Here's a helpful article from OverDrive, opens a new window that explains more about the transition.

P.S. If you end up at the end of a long hold list in OverDrive, we can recommend other books while you wait! Check out our Personalized Reading Assistants today, opens a new window.
