Friends of the Arivaca Library

Annual memberships are $10 for families, $5 for individuals, $2 for teens and $1. for children. Donations are always welcome.

About Us

We are an active organization that supports the Arivaca Branch Library by fostering closer relations between the library and the community, raising money to improve library services, and supporting projects and local activities, which include:

  • Book sales are held ongoing in the library's meeting room
  • Providing stipends for monthly adult program presenters and children's Summer Reading Club programs
  • Providing a scholarship and gift each year for Arivaca students graduating from high school
  • Maintaining the grounds of the Arivaca Library outside the courtyard
  • Co-hosting a children's party in February
  • Kicking off and ending the Summer Reading Club season with parties
  • Celebrating with the Friends' Holiday Tea in December
  • Purchasing items beyond the budget of the Arivaca Branch Library
  • Hosting of a Southern Arizona author during the September annual meeting
  • Co-sponsoring the oral history book project, Finding Arivaca
  • In memory of Joan Shelton, the Friends have provided two sandstone tables for picnicking behind the Library.
  • Trees have been planted in memory of other family and friends.
