Are there restrictions on what I can view? Are the computers filtered?
Yes, the filtering system filters sites based on the age of the user. Requests to unblock a website that is currently filtered by the system can be submitted using the Contact Us form. Read more about the filtering system.
Can I save my work?
Yes. Please bring a flash drive (portable USB drive) to save your work.
How do I reserve a computer for a specific date and time?
Reservations are no longer available at most libraries. The library's computer sign-up system is first come/first served. When you sign up, you are put on a waiting list for a computer.
How much time do I get on a computer?
Each person can use the library's computers for a total of 4 hours, systemwide, per day. When you initially sign up, you will get one session (session length is determined by location). If there are computers are available at the end of your initial session, you may be given more time, up to the 4 hour limit per day.
How much does it cost to print?
Printing costs 10¢ a page; our printers take coins or $1 bills.
Is computer assistance available?
While some assistance and training is available, users assume full responsibility for learning to use the equipment and the programs. We encourage you to bring someone with you if you are not familiar with using computers. Additionally, the library offers computer classes at various locations. Check the Computer Classes page for a complete listing of classes.
Can I learn how to use computers at the library?
The library offers many classes. Check the Computer Classes page for a complete listing of classes and some recommended online tutorials.
