TeenZone - Readers Theatre Project
Listen as Local Students Perform Letters from Rifka
Students from Montessori Khalsa School performed Letters from Rifka as part of the library's Becoming American Readers Theatre Project. Over 90 students around Tucson participated in the project, working with drama coach Paul Fisher and visual artist Michelle Williams for eight weeks to create the sets and practice for the performances.
The Readers Theatre Project, funded by a grant of more than $15,000 from the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records Agency under the Library Services and Technology Act, involvse students from six local schools.
Performances were held at the following branch libraries and schools: Quincie-Douglas Branch Library and Van Buskirk Elementary; Valencia Branch Library and San Miguel High School; Sam Lena-South Tucson Branch Library and Santa Cruz Catholic School; Mission Branch Library and Lynn-Urquides Elementary; El Pueblo Branch Library and C.E. Rose Elementary; and Himmel Branch Library and Montessori Khalsa School.
