Why do I need a PIN?
A PIN protects your library card from unauthorized use. In the event that your card is lost or stolen, we have provided you with an extra layer of protection. The library enabled this feature to help ensure the privacy of library accounts.
In addition, a PIN is required by the library's computer system for us to provide new services.
Your PIN will be required when you:
- login to My Account on the library's web site
- login to use a library database
- check out items at a self-check machine
- login to reserve and use a library computer
I don't have a PIN. How do I get one?
What's the format for PINs?
Your PIN must be four numerical digits long. You cannot use letters, special characters or repeating numbers such as 1212 or 2222. An example of an acceptable PIN is 5961.
Please select a PIN that you can remember. Please do not write your PIN on your library card.
I forgot my PIN. How do I reset it?
Click on the "Forgot your PIN?" link below the login box in My Account. If you have a valid email address on record with the library, you can reset your PIN online. An email will be sent to you with a link to reset your PIN.
If you do not have a valid email address on record with the library, please bring your library card and photo I.D. to your local library, and we will be happy to reset your PIN.
If you are a minor and do not have any photo I.D., you must bring your library card into your local library to reset your PIN. Staff members can assist you at the service desk.
