Borrowers' Agreement
In return for a Pima County Public Library card with borrowing and computer use privileges, you agree as follows:
- A. Responsibility for Library Materials and Their Return
- You agree to be responsible for all materials borrowed, by you or any one else, using your library card, and for all fines and charges related to these materials. If materials are returned late or damaged or are lost or stolen, you agree to be responsible to pay all fines and charges. Please see the schedule of fines and charges. The only limit on your responsibility is stated in Paragraph B immediately below.
- B. Lost or Stolen Cards
- AFTER you have reported the loss or theft of your card to the library, you will not be held responsible for any materials that are subsequently checked out on your card, or for fines or charges on such materials. You agree to be responsible for telling the library about the loss or theft of your library card. Remember that you remain responsible for all materials, fines and charges for the time prior to your report of the loss or theft. If your card is lost or stolen, protect yourself by reporting it to the library immediately.
- C. Acceptance of Library Rules, Regulations and Policies
- You agree to abide by all check-out limits, identification requirements, computer use guidelines, and other library rules, regulations, or policies which shall be posted or available to you for inspection at the information or check-out desk.
- D. Parent or Legal Guardian
- When accepting this agreement as a parent or legal guardian on behalf of a minor, you agree to be responsible for that minor complying with this Agreement, and with all check-out limits, identification requirements, computer use guidelines and other library rules, regulations, or policies. Parents/guardians are fully responsible for their children's use of computer equipment, including the Internet.
- E. Suspension or Revocation of Library Card
- When you, or the minor on whose behalf you are accepting this Agreement, do not obey this Agreement, or any of the library's check-out limits, identification requirements, computer use guidelines, rules, regulations or policies described or referred to in this Agreement, you agree that the library may suspend or revoke the library card issued under this Agreement, and/or the borrowing and computer use privileges granted under this Agreement. This is in addition to any other legal remedies or sanctions available to Pima County Public Library.
