Voting & Elected Officials

Every 10 years, following the U.S. Census, Arizona redraws its legislative and congressional district boundary lines to reflect population changes. The Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission is charged with the task of seeing that it's done. Information about the commission can be found at www.azredistricting.org

According to state law, the Pima County Board of Supervisors must adopt new supervisor district boundary lines by Dec. 1, 2011 and the boundaries must be redrawn so that no district has more than 10 percent more of the population than any other district. An advisory committee was appointed by the Board of Supervisors to help redraw supervisor district boundary lines based on updated U.S. Census figures. The committee held six public meetings and County staff held seven public hearings.
On July 14, 2011 the Committee adopted a map to recommend to the Board of Supervisors. View the committee recommended map for Pima County here. The Board of Supervisors will consider the Committee's recommend map at their public meeting on September 6, 2011.
