NetLibrary requires that you create a free account before you can download audio books or read ebooks online. You only need to do this one time.
The first time you go to NetLibrary, you must follow the link from our Digital Downloads page so that NetLibrary knows you are a library customer. If you go directly to NetLibrary.com the first time, you will not see the link to create and account.
Please follow these steps:
- Go to our Digital Downloads
- Click on the NetLibrary button.
- Login with your name and library card number.
- You will be taken to the NetLibrary homepage. Look in the upper right hand corner. You should see the Create a Free Account link.
- Fill out all the information. Write down your username and password. We cannot retrieve them if you lose them.
Once you have created your account, please follow these instructions:
- Go directly to www.netlibrary.com.
- Browse for the book you'd like to download.

- Format - MP3 or WMA
- File size - helps you estimate how long it will take to download
- Duration - tells you playback time
Check Out
Only NetLibrary audiobooks can be checked out. eBooks in NetLibrary must be read online.
To check out an audiobook title, click the "Download this Audiobook" link. You will be given a choice to download the CD quality or the Radio quality.
What's the difference?
- Radio quality is a smaller file, and therefore downloads faster. But, you cannot transfer a radio quality file to an mp3 player.
- CD quality is a larger file, and therefore slower to download, but you must download the CD quality if you want to transfer the file to an mp3 player.
Please Note:
Even though NetLibrary uses the term "CD quality," you cannot burn NetLibrary audio books to CD.
Select a sound quality by clicking on the appropriate link.
If you are not logged in, you will login now.
Downloading Audio Books
After you have clicked on the sound quality of your choice, the title is now checked out to you.
You will be asked where to save the file. Select the location of your choice and click on Save.
You must use Internet Explorer (browser) when downloading your NetLibrary audiobooks. Firefox and other browsers do not download correctly.
