Can I download videos with a Database Access Card?
No. Downloading a video file is like checking out a video on DVD; it requires a full-service library card. You can get a full-service card at any library branch.
How long will it take to download a video?
Download times will vary with the length of the video and the speed of your Internet connection. However, because of the streaming media feature, you will be able to start watching the movie while it is being downloaded.
Can I download a "Hollywood Favorites" file multiple times?
Once you view the video, it will be automatically checked back in after 24 hours. You can check the title out again as often as you wish.
If I check out a file from "Hollywood Favorites" but don't want to watch it within 24 hours, can I go back and play it at a later time?
Yes. The file will remain on your computer for 7 days before it gets automatically checked back in, and you can start watching it any time during that 7 days. However, once you start playing the movie, the 24 hour timer starts. This means you could download a Hollywood Favorites movie on Sunday morning and not watch it until Thursday night. You would then be able to watch it as many times as you wanted until Friday night, when the 24 hour period would expire.
How many files can I check out at once?
The number of files you can download depends on which channel you are using. "Hollywood Favorites," and Sony Entertainment allow you one download each, while you may download up to ten files from the rest of the channels. This means you can have up to 12 files at any one time, but only one of them can be from the Hollywood Favorites channel, and one can be from the Sony Pictures Entertainment channel.
