Directions to the Joel D. Valdez Main Library

From the I-1O freeway, traveling east

Take the Prince exit, go east to Stone Avenue, turn right on Stone, travel south on Stone Ave. through many lights. As you approach downtown, go under the underpass, continue south to Alameda, then turn right on Alameda. Library parking garage is 1/2 block west of Stone on the left. (If traveling west on I-10, the Prince exit will not be available)..

From the I-10 Freeway, traveling west

Take the 29th St. exit, go east to 6th Avenue, turn left, continue north through downtown to Alameda. Make a left on Alameda and go west on Alameda through Stone Avenue. Library parking garage is 1/2 block past Stone on the left. (If traveling east on I-10 the 29th St. exit will not be available).

From the Stone and Speedway intersection

Go south on Stone, under the underpass, continue south to Alameda, then turn right on Alameda. Library parking garage is 1/2 block west of Stone on the left.

From Broadway

Head west under the underpass. The road will fork; take the right fork which becomes Toole Avenue. Continue on Toole going west to the second light where the road will fork again. Take a left onto Alameda, then continue west on Alameda through Stone Avenue. Library parking garage is 1/2 block past Stone on the left.

From Broadway (alternate route)

Head west under the underpass. The road will fork; take the left fork which becomes Congress St. Continue west on Congress, then turn right on 6th Ave, go north to Alameda, make a left on Alameda and continue west through Stone Avenue. Library parking garage is 1/2 block past Stone on the left.

From South 6th Avenue or East 22nd Street

Go north on 6th Avenue past Broadway, continue north on 6th Avenue to Alameda. Make a left on Alameda and go west on Alameda through Stone Avenue. Library parking garage is 1/2 block past Stone on the left.

Enter by turning left off of Alameda Street, west of Stone Avenue but before Church Avenue.

Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday: 5:45 am-9:00 pm
Thursday-Friday: 5:45 am-7:00 pm
Saturday: 7:45 am-6:00 pm
Sunday: 12:00 noon-6:00 pm

Rates

The first hour of parking is free for library users during the hours that the library is open. Ticket validation is available in the library.

Monday-Friday, 6 am through 5 pm:

  0-1 hours - FREE
  1-2 hours $2.00
  2-3 hours $3.00
  3-4 hours $4.00
  4-5 hours $5.00
  5-6 hours $6.00
  6-7 hours $7.00
  7-8 hours $8.00
  Any lost ticket - $8.00

There is no charge for parking after 5 pm, Monday-Friday. Overnight fees accrue. Call ParkWise at 791-5071 for overnight rates.

Saturdays and Sundays: Free parking in the library garage. Overnight fees accrue. Call ParkWise at 791-5071 for overnight rates.
