HOT Artist - female

Gail Marcus-Orlen. Occupation: painter. Age: 57. Hometown: New York City. Status: married. Vivid, cheery pastels, nature scenes and perspectives from the inside looking out mark many of Marcus-Orlen's works. The pieces also convey a sense of tranquility, reflecting the artist's personality. "I try to make something beautiful that makes me feel good about the day and makes everyone else who looks at it feel better," says the radiant Marcus-Orlen, who describes her oil paintings as "slightly surreal." The New York native moved to Tucson in the late '60s. You can see more of her paintings at Etherton Gallery or online at www.art-exchange.com.
