Permanent Art Displays - Kokopelli petroglyph by David Morris

When the Joel D. Valdez Main Library hosted its first biennial call to artists in 1990 for juried art shows in its new gallery space, David Morris, a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma living in Arizona since 1971, was selected to show his work. After his show, he donated this piece to the library. As of 2008, David is still doing rock art and exhibits at some of the local art shows such as the Prescott Indian Art Show and the Pueblo Grande Indian Market in Phoenix. He is working at the Pueblo Grande Museum in Phoenix, as a museum aide and works with the education programs. Visit his website for more information.
