Permanent Art Displays - Interactive Sculptures
Located on the west side of Jácome Plaza facing the crosswalk to the old Pima County Courthouse, Artist, David Elliott's free standing metal based sculptures are "pedestrian oriented." Installed in September 1999, twelve stone balls surround these objects.
Object #1 is a conical shape and functions as a kaleidoscope. It is mixed media - metal, polished stainless steel, glass and rubber.
Object #2 is star shaped with six lenses in the central area. It is mixed media - metal PVC piping, rubber and tile.
Object #3 is square in shape and has multi-colored tile attached to both sides. It is mixed media - metal and tile. The stone balls are quarried stones and lathe turned in Mexico.
