Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa—Free water
The Westin La Paloma Resort and spa had free water access from 2000 to May, 2007. When the resort was built in 2000 no one installed a water meter. The spa taped directly into a Tucson Water Main, so it never received any bills for water usage. Tucson Water discovered the improper connection when Westin La Paloma asked for help locating all of its back-flow assemblies. After this problem was found, the City of Tucson Water Department did bill the resort for the water usage.
