M.A.S.H. –model for the character Sherman Potter
A Tucson surgeon was the model for the character Sherman Potter in the M*A*S*H books and series. Dr. Douglas H Lindsey was a commander of six M*A*S*H units during the Korean War. One of the doctors who worked for Dr. Lindsey wrote the M*A*S*H series of books. Dr. Lindsey downplayed the reports that he was the model for Sherman Potter. Dr. Lindsey died January 1, 2005 in Tucson.
