Ted Walker Youth Day

Ted Walker Youth Day honors a Tucson philanthropist. Ted Walker Youth Day is sponsored by the Pima County Parklands Foundation every winter.   On Ted Walker Youth Day 4th, 5th and 6th graders can spend a day at Old Tucson Studios free of charge.

Ted Walker was the founder of the Tucson Square and Compass Children’s Clinic. He started the clinic in his back yard in 1947. He also owned Ted Walker Mobile Home Sales on South Sixth Avenue.
He was founder of the County Parks Commission. 

The first Youth day organized by Ted Walker was held in May of 1988. After the death of Ted Walker in 1993, the event was named in his honor.
