Oscar Meyer Wienermobile pulled over in Tucson
The Oscar Meyer Wienermobile was pulled over about 10:30 a.m. on June 27, 2007 in Tucson. The DPS pulled over the Wienermobile on I10 near the south 6th Avenue exit. A DPS officer ran a computer check on the Wienermobile’s license plate “Yummy.” The computer check came back that the “Yummy” license plate was stolen.
The mistake was made because Wisconsin police had made a wrong entry on a computer log. A bad computer entry showed the Wienermobile as having a stolen license plate. The computer entry was supposed to make a note that the license plate “Yummy” was only to be on the Wienermobile. If the license plate “Yummy” showed up another vehicle it was stolen.
