Canine-Wild Animal Hybrids

Canine-wild animal hybrids in Pima County must be registered effective October 21, 2006.  If a dog is part wolf or part coyote it must be registered.  For information on registration requirements go to Pima County Animal Care Center: http://www.pimaanimalcare.org/phs/

Pima County has not had major problems with wolf-dogs, but the breed has certain risks. Pima County responded to 29 calls regarding wolf or coyote hybrids from 1999 to 2005.  Five calls involved bites and two of the dogs were put down.
