Safe Haven Newborn Program

In Arizona, parents of newborn infants who choose not to keep them can drop babies younger than 72 hours old off at certain locations, no questions asked.

From the Arizona Department of Economic Security:

"A Safe Haven newborn is an unharmed infant who is 72 hours old or younger and the infant is delivered by a parent or agent of the parent to a Safe Haven provider...A parent or agent of the parent may remain anonymous and the Safe Haven provider shall not require the parent or agent of the parent to answer any questions. The Safe Haven provider shall offer the parent or agent of the parent written information about information and referral organizations."

For more information and a full list of Safe Haven locations, visit the Arizona Department of Economic Security website at https://www.azdes.gov/landing.aspx?id=10233
