Father Kino Statue—Christmas decorations

The Father Kino statue which stands on the northwest corner of South Kino Boulevard and East 15th Street is decorated for Christmas each year. Two small Santa hats are placed on the ears of Father Kino’s drooping horse. It is unknown who places these decorations but after Christmas the decorations just go away.

The Santa hats started appearing on the horse’s ears in 1991.
