Shrimp from Mexico
The United States placed an embargo on Mexican Shrimp. The embargo began in April 2010.
U.S. officials had determined that Mexico’s method of keeping turtles out of shrimp nets did not meet the U.S. standards.
Travelers to Mexico will no longer be able to bring home shrimp. Shrimp fishers in Mexico will not be able to export to the United States.
