Preschool Storytime

Join us for songs, stories and a craft! Designed for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents or caregivers. Stories are longer than the Toddler Storytime and the activities are more complex. Children must be able to sit still for a longer period of time than during Toddler Storytime. Preschool Storytime is 30 to 45 minutes long.

Reading Partners

Reading Partners brings adult volunteers and children together to share their love of reading. Our trained Reading Partners take joy in reading stories one-on-one to your child during your visit to the library. They also welcome your child reading to them.

Reading Partners is generously supported by the Friends of the Pima County Public Library.

Homework Help

Tutors available on site for all ages. Help available in Spanish on Wednesdays, subject to availability.

Stay and Play

Play is the natural activity of childhood. It is the way children learn about themselves, about others and about their world. Children ages 8 months to 4 years and their parents or caregivers are invited to come play! A certified child development specialist from The Parent Connection will be available for questions.

Family Storytime

Family Storytime is for all ages. It is an opportunity for parents to introduce their children to reading and language in a fun way.

Read to a Dog

Come and read for fun to a licensed therapy dog.

We have Mr T., Jesse, and now Chiquita.

The dog creates a very low stress environment for children who are learning or having difficulties learning to read. As the child reads aloud, the dog listens and enjoys the story and never corrects the child.

The dog just loves what the child is doing! A loving, low-stress time for children to read is often extremely helpful in learning to read.

Looking at Windows

Refresh the skills you need to work with the Windows operating system or just learn some helpful things about Windows.
In this course, you will learn skills that are useful for beginning computer users including resizing and manipulating Windows, changing the mouse properties, using toolbars, rearranging the computer desktop and getting support online.

Public Health Nurse Visit

Are you wondering what your blood pressure is? Do you have a health-related question? Do you need to find low cost health care resources in Pima County?

A public health nurse from the Pima County Health Department will be available to assist library customers with their health questions.

Toddler Storytime

Designed for children 18- to 36-months-old. Parents/caregivers and children interact through stories, songs, and rhymes. Stories are kept short to fit the toddlers' short attention spans. Each Toddler storytime is 20 to 30 minutes long.

Babytime

Join us for songs, fingerplays, and a story. This program is designed for babies up to 18 months of age. At Storytime, children have an opportunity to do activities that promote development and learning.
