Grow Your Business with Hands-on Market Research

Learn how to locate potential customers with the A to Z Directory Database, find demographic data using the U.S. Census and County Business Patterns, track industry trends, and perform effective market research using free library databases. This free business workshop will be taught by Pima County Public Library Librarians.

Family Storytime

Family Storytime is for all ages. It is an opportunity for parents to introduce their children to reading and language in a fun way.

Read to a Dog

Children are invited to read to a Certified Therapy Dog. One of the favorite things for the dog to do is listen to children read lots of stories. Reading to a dog or other pet can help new and reluctant readers gain confidence, increase important reading skills, and develop a love of reading.

High School Art Invitational Reception and Awards Ceremony

The Joel D. Valdez Main Library gallery is currently hosting our 18th Annual High School Art Invitational. Artwork from local high school students will be on display during the month of March. We received 94 student entries from 19 different schools throughout Pima County.

Please come see the show and join us for a reception and awards ceremony for participating students. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

eBook and Audiobook Workshop

Seeking help with your portable device? Looking for one-on-one help with downloading and transferring a book using your computer? Bring it to the library for demonstrations, questions, and hands-on help.

Reading Partners

Reading Partners brings adult volunteers and children together to share their love of reading. Our trained Reading Partner Anita takes joy in reading stories one-on-one to your child during your visit to the library. They also welcome your child reading to them.

Reading Partners is generously supported by the Friends of the Pima County Public Library.

Preschool Storytime

Designed for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents or caregivers. Stories are longer than the Toddler Storytime and the activities are more complex. Children must be able to sit still for a longer period of time than during Toddler Storytime. Preschool Storytime is 30 to 45 minutes long.

Hands On Science-Slime

Giant molecule chains called polymers are vital to modern civilization and to life itself. Learn what makes these maverick molecules so unique and so very important. Explore, create and play with some polymers you may already know… slime, silly putty and Styrofoam. Then... make your own.

Pixel Power!

Teens come on in to Joel Valdez Main Library's Teen Room where we're hosting video games on the second and fourth Wednesday each month. We've likely got your favorites and, just maybe, some you've never played.

Individual Job Counseling

A job counselor from Career Services Unlimited will provide free, one-on-one career counseling on topics including resume writing, choosing a career, updating your interviewing, networking and job search skills, and more.
