Author Presentation
Author: Deanne Stillman
Deanne Stillman is a widely published, critically acclaimed writer. Hear as she talks about her latest book, Desert Reckoning: A Town Sheriff, a Mojave Hermit, and the Biggest Manhunt in Modern California History, which was published in July.
The book details the hunt for Donald Kueck, who fled into the Mojave Desert after gunning down Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Stephen Douglas Sorensen. A weeklong manhunt ensued, ending in the suspect's death.
The program is presented by the Friends of the Salazar-Ajo Library.

Community Meeting
Friends of the Library Book Sale
The Friends of the Salazar-Ajo Library will host a $2-a bag-book sale, which includes donated and discarded books, movies and music. Sale prices will be in effect from 2 pm Friday, January 18, to library closing time (5 pm) on Saturday, January 19.
