Policies Every Nonprofit Organization Should Consider Having
When we think of nonprofit policies, we generally think of financial policies. Those are important! But in this session we will also examine other kinds of organizational policies that can help drive an organization to its next level of performance: those pertaining to programs, fundraising, marketing, staff development, volunteers, and board organization. A topic for nonprofit managers and board members!
Presented by Clyde Kunz. With more than 23 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Clyde Kunz has worked with many nonprofit organizations in organizational development and fundraising capacities. He also teaches Board Governance and Resource Development for the Nonprofit Management Institute at the ASU Lodestar Center. Mr. Kunz has been actively involved in professional organizations and has served on several nonprofit boards. Currently, he serves on the boards of directors of two private foundations, one local and one national.

Read to a Dog
Children are invited to read to a Certified Therapy Dog. One of the favorite things for the dog to do is listen to children read lots of stories. Reading to a dog or other pet can help new and reluctant readers gain confidence, increase important reading skills, and develop a love of reading.

Author Presentation
The Author Talks
The Joel D. Valdez Main Library invites authors to come and talk about their books. We host a variety of exciting authors and topics. Listen, ask questions, and meet the author. The program is free and parking is free on Saturdays.
This month: Bill Broyles and Gayle Hartmann, authors of Last water on the Devil's Highway: a cultural and natural history of Tinajas Altas.
In this day and age it is hard for us to believe that Europeans visited the desert wilds of Arizona before they spied the golden beaches of California. Or that at one time the best route from Europe to California crossed the unmercifully hot sands of southwestern Arizona. But it’s true. Come hear Bill Broyles and Gayle Hartmann talk about their new book Last Water on the Devil’s Highway and tell why the infamous Camino del Diablo and its few natural waterholes were so important historically and still so interesting.
