Dig In! Library Plaza Planter Project

It's time to Dig In-to the planters in front of the Joel D. Valdez Main Library!

If you would like to join in this beautification effort, please attend this, or one of the other, scheduled planting information sessions. These sessions will be held in the café table area on the first floor of the Main Library.

No gardening experience is necessary. We will provide mentors and other resources. You bring your enthusiasm! Work with your friends, family, co-workers or come on your own.

We will hold a planting shindig the morning of DIY Day, Saturday, September 28, 2013.

Seed Library Volunteer Orientation

Share your love of gardening with others by becoming a Seed Library volunteer. Some volunteer activities may include:

  • Seed sorting and repacking
  • Help with seed saving workshops
  • Mentor new gardeners and seed savers
  • Help with Seed Library outreach and events
  • Plus many more opportunities!

The Seed Library welcomes volunteers of all abilities and interests, you don't have to have to gardening or seed saving experience to volunteer.

Please print and complete the volunteer form found here and bring it with you to the volunteer orientation.

Grand Opening/Dedication/Reception for the Thompson Seed Library at Oro Valley

All are invited to a dedication and reception for the opening of the new Thompson Seed Library.

This newest outlet of the unique Pima County Public Library Seed Library was funded by donations of friends and family in memory of local gardener extraordinaire, Raymond F. Thompson, Jr. Ray was the longtime partner of Dr. William A. Fry, retired literature professor, who has been presenting the highly popular monthly seminars at Oro Valley Library for the past 10 years: Great Literature of All Times.

Refreshments will be provided.
